About This Spot

Mas Salsa Tex Mex Restaurant unfolds as a welcoming local spot where the rhythm of Springtown slows down just enough to savor the familiar comforts of genuine Tex-Mex fare. Nestled along W Hwy 199, this unpretentious eatery greets guests with a casual, easygoing atmosphere — a place where families, friends, and neighbors come together without fuss, drawn by a steady stream of freshly made dishes and friendly, attentive service.

Inside, the pace feels relaxed yet lively, a steady hum of conversation and clinking glasses blending with the occasional laughter that spills over shared plates. The space itself offers a straightforward charm, favoring function over flair, inviting visitors to focus on the simple joys of good food and company. Though the furnishings carry a bit of worn-in character, this only adds to the laid-back, approachable vibe that makes it feel like a genuine local gathering place rather than a polished showcase.

Here, meals arrive hot and satisfying, often with classic staples done thoughtfully—whether it’s a hefty grilled burrito packed with savory fillings or the steady flow of freshly topped tacos accompanied by refilled chips and salsa that keep everyone coming back. The menu’s depth caters both to those seeking heartier adult flavors and the little ones at the table, with kid-friendly options that make dining out feel effortless for families.

Complementing the plates, there’s an accessible selection of beers and refreshing nonalcoholic sips, keeping the mood casual and convivial. The service stands out as quietly reliable, with staff who strike a balance between attentive and unobtrusive—aware of their guests’ needs without hovering.

Ultimately, Mas Salsa offers a grounded experience: it’s a spot where the hum of everyday life meets the warmth of shared meals, creating moments that feel both familiar and entirely personal. In a corner of Springtown where choices might be limited, this restaurant stands as a steady, welcoming doorway into a satisfying Tex-Mex escape.

Have gone twice in a week and before that had someone bring me takeout. Food has been great every time. Service is friendly, fast, and food is always hot and fresh (grilled stuffed burrito for first visit). Highly recommend for local Mexican food in the area.

Food outstanding and quickly served. Great service with friendly staff. Never had a bad meal here. Wish they would at least blacktop the driveways, hard to get in and out of stone parking lot. They did some modifications to entrance, but desperately need new tables and chairs (from the 70s). Floor looks fine, tables wobbly. They do a lot of business should be able to replace furnishings.

Pretty good restaurant for that far out of Springtown. Decent selection. Regular chips and regular salsa were refilled frequently. And the waitress was attentive to our requests and seeing if we needed anything else. The chimichanga was not bad. It had good chunks of beef in it. The cowboy salad was ok. Mo cheese on it. They only have iceberg lettuce for any of the salads. The charro beans were really a soup which was good, but not a lot of beans. The favorite in our group were the street tacos. No cheese on those either, just meat and tortillas, but the family likes them. Decent prices here.

Major improvement with the new ownership and management. We had a few bad experiences the past few years, and recently had a great dinner here. We were informed of the recent changes. Happy to leave a good review

6/18/25-I had the Carnitas and my date had the Chicken Monterey. The food came out fast, was hot, and delicious. The salsa was really good. They were extremely busy for a wednesday evening. The Margarita ordered was really watery though. 7/31/25 - We went back for dinner. I ordered the chimichanga with beans and rice, and the BF ordered the Chicken Monterrey again. The food was fine, but he also decided to try the margarita again. He asked for top shelf - Patrón - he was charged $13.50 for top shelf, and another $2 for the Patrón. This was an average sized margarita. We asked the waitress about the top shelf, and she never mentioned that the Patrón would be extra. But that the top shelf margarita was higher than the regular. No margarita should cost nearly $16, I don't care what your putting in it.

GREAT place, great service, Great food! Didn’t even notice the live music and outdoor seating but we’ll come back for the food. Yummy!

This place has the ambiance of authenticity. The staff is always welcoming. Karina is a wonderful young lady, waitress, and manager. They have adult beverages available. The food is incredible. I would recommend the Gran Parillada, White Caso with beef, and a real Mexican Coca Cola. Went on a Wednesday just before 1pm and it was pleasant. No waiting, hot food, cold drinks, and great service. They do have a military discount if you ask. Plenty of parking space in the large gravel lot. No real spaces except for the handicap spot in front by the entrance.

We stopped in on a Sat afternoon on the way back from Jacksboro with a party of 9. It wasn't busy at all, but appeared to be getting ready for a band that evening. Food was all great. Very good chips/salsa. Good selection, service was good and dining room was clean and well kept. Guessing this is a great place for an evening outside listening to music and eating good food. We will certainly be back next time we are in the area.
